Christine Guenette (She/Her)

Christine is a mother, a teacher, a coach and a massage therapist. She came to yoga as a teenager and played with it casually for years before it became more mainstream and accessible. Yoga was the constant while she climbed the corporate ladder, got married and then divorced from an abusive relationship, and healed herself from bulimia and over exercising.

In 2012 she was fired from her secure job at a bank and began her journey into living a more purposeful life. Today, Christine teaches yoga with fun, empathy, and with a strong emphasis with meeting ourselves exactly where we are at. She encourages us all to accept and love our bodies just as they are, and to use yoga as a tool to tune in to ourselves so that we can turn on in every area of our lives.

Christine loves yoga as it is the one place where she feels Graceful, confident, patient and peaceful. She returns to her mat regularly so that those feelings are more accessible to her off of the mat. She does not worry about achieving specific asana goals, because she knows that by simply engaging with her body she can feel the way that she wants to feel in every area of her life. That said, her classes are often still challenging and can make you sweat!

As a certified yoga instructor, life coach, and massage therapist, Christine's yoga classes are both introspective and challenging. She leads us to explore the edges of discomfort as opportunities for growth.

Early Morning Stretch

Wake up stiff? Me too. We don't need to commit to an entire yoga practice though to feel a little more limber as we start the day. Here's a few quick stretches to work those kinks out and get you on your way.

Muladhara Chakra Yoga Practice

A grounding practice to help curb anxiety and bring you back into the Truth of your existence. This practice includes leg stretches, standing poses and forward folds.

Props?

Yes! 2 blocks, a blanket and a bolster.

Yin Yoga for Emotional Resilience

Emotional Resilience doesn't mean we don't feel the hard feelings. But it does mean that we learn how to feel them, fully, without feeling completely taken out of ourselves.

In this yin yoga practice we practice the art of feeling it all with deep hip openers, and close with an open heart.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is all about placing the body gently into supported positions that help you turn off the stress response nervous system. In this practice your body will rest, restore, and revitalize!

Props? Yes! A bolster, a couple of pillows, two blocks and a blanket.

Just Toe Pose

This one Yin Yoga posture packs a real punch. Toe pose helps to stretch the bottoms of the feet, where many lines of fascia of the the body end and begin. It's also the ultimate in being with discomfort and leaning into the impermanence of it. Enjoy, if you can!

Planks!

In this yoga practice we explore a variety of plank postures to help build core strength and stabilize the back.
